Made of wool cloth matching the uniform in both color and weave, they are of standard construction and cut on the bias to ensure a proper fit around the calf. Each puttee has a total length of two meters. The width at the center is 120 millimeters, tapering gradually toward both ends to a final width of 90 millimeters. One end features a leather reinforcing strip fitted with a riveted hook-and-eye fastener for securing the puttee to the boot, while the opposite end has a 90-centimeter-long strap for fastening the puttee below the knee.
